1a) Do you have a specifically designated bereavement midwife/midwives?

Yes

 

1b) If so, how many do you have and how much time (for example, but not limited to, number of days, or number of hours per week) is allocated to this function for these members of staff?

  • One band 7 midwife (30hrs a week),
  • One band 6 midwife (15hrs a week),
  • One Nursery Nurse (6 hours a week).

 

1c) If so, what is the current waiting time for a parent to see a bereavement midwife?

We do not have a waiting time. All women who have lost their baby are cared for by the team and offered support in our specially designed family room. In addition, parents are then offered counselling at a time arranged jointly with the midwife and parents. Support continues into the next pregnancy as required.
