Details of the Response

1) Does your Trust provide private treatment services, self-funded services, or any other service financed in full or in part by the patient?

Yes. The Trust currently provides private services to self-paying patients on an individual patient request basis.

 

a) If so, could you tell me which services are currently offered on this basis?

Examples of treatment provided include UVB dermatology clinics, diagnostic procedures including imaging and radiology, paediatric ENT clinics. Additional private services patients can access include private amenity rooms for Maternity patients.

Please note: a significant proportion of this figure includes income from BMI Runnymede where there is no activity data. They ‘own’ the inpatient rights for private patient activity at the St Peter’s site – our income from them includes profit share, ground rent and sales of services (i.e. pharmacy and pathology) and is counted as private patient income under Monitor accounting definitions.
