Details of the Response

1. How many patient information leaflets do you produce?

The Trust currently has 401 patient leaflets

2. How many new leaflets are produced each year and how many are reviewed

Production of new leaflets can vary year on year – this year there have been around 32. All leaflets are to be reviewed every 2 years

3. How is the content derived for each leaflet?

This is decided by the most appropriate person in the area that the leaflet pertains to.

4. How much does it cost to produce the leaflets?

It is not possible to give an exact cost as this is dependent on how many leaflets are produced, how long they are, style etc. Our patient leaflets can range from anything from 4 pages to over 30 and quantities can also vary widely.

5. How many staff are involved in the production of the leaflets?

This varies as to the content of the leaflet.

6. Who is responsible for the production of the leaflets?

Each department / ward are responsible for the content in their own areas – the Communications Team ensures that all leaflets are formatted correctly and has standard layout.

7. Who is responsible for the accuracy of the leaflets?

Every leaflet has a ratification form that is required to be completed which includes signatures from a clinician, committee chairs and a patient member for the relevant leaflet. A member of the Communications Team will do a final proof read.
