Recently, an Ashford Hospital League of Friends Badge was released for bidding on the popular on-line auction site, eBay. The badge was originally made to be sold in aid of the League of Friends but fell in to the hands of a confused but slightly pleased seller from Berkshire who mentions on eBay: “We bought this badge with some other items and therefore do not know anything about it. The badge was eventually sold after 10 bids for £31.52.

Eric Molinari, Chairman of the League of Friends commented: “This is an incredible mark-up on the original price of the product; it is usually sold at Ashford Hospital with all proceeds going towards equipment and comforts for patients and staff. You can get one of these highly collectable badges for just £1 at this year’s Annual Summer Fete, which is being held on July 16.

The Summer Fete, which is very popular and successful, will take place at Ashford Hospital with hopes of raising money for new and ongoing projects. The fete starts at 12.30pm and continues throughout the afternoon with entertainment and refreshments. Mr Molinari continued: “Very many of us are now busy planning for the fete on 16th July and we hope people will come and support us and have a very enjoyable afternoon.”
