Introduction
All employees receive paid annual leave as written in their terms and conditions of employment. This scheme allows employees more flexibility by altering their leave entitlement, either by buying additional leave or by selling leave they are already entitled to. Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is committed to the health and wellbeing of staff members and recognises the importance of assisting them with maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
The buying and selling of annual leave is an arrangement between the employee and the Trust, this is where an employee’s annual leave entitlement can be extended or reduced by up to one week per financial year. Buying leave means increasing your annual leave entitlement for a reduction in your salary. Selling leave means reducing your annual leave entitlement for an increase in your salary.
