Statutory Framework

The Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (the "Trust") is a public benefit corporation which was established under the 2006 Act. The principal places of business of the Trust are:

  • Ashford Hospital, London Road, Ashford, Middlesex, TW15 3AA
  • St. Peter’s Hospital , Guildford Road, Chertsey, Surrey, KT16 0PZ

The statutory functions conferred on the Trust are set out in the 2006 Act, as amended by the Health and Social Care Act 2012.

The Trust also has a Constitution as required under Schedule 7 of the 2006 Act which includes further provisions consistent with Schedule 7 in support of the governance arrangements within the Trust.

The principal purpose of the Trust is the provision of goods and services for the purposes of the health service in England.

The Trust does not fulfil its principal purpose unless, in each financial year, its total income from the provision of goods and services for the purposes of the health service in England is greater than its total income from the provision of goods and services for any other purposes.
