Introduction

The purpose of this policy is to improve the utilisation of existing staff, appropriate deployment of staff resource, ensure work life balance within European Working Time Directive (EWTD) and Trust values, effective management of temporary staff, facilitate the use of a contingent workforce and reduce bank and agency and overtime expenditure by giving Line Managers clear visibility of staff contracted hours.
