Thrilled children get to see their illustrations published in a Stephanie Marks Diabetes Appeal new recipe book ‘Delicious Dining’ with a foreword by celebrity chef Antony Worrall Thompson. The book promotes ‘healthy eating for people with Diabetes and their families’.
Children from Laleham Church of England Primary School entered the competition to illustrate one of the five sections within the book (Starter, Main, Puddings, Snacks or Kids Parties).
The book is being compiled by Ashford and St Peter’s Dietetics Department in conjunction with Brooklands Catering College. The money raised will help the Stephanie Marks Diabetes Appeal to build a dedicated diabetes resource centre in the grounds of St Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey and improve the delivery of diabetes care in Surrey and West Middlesex.
The 5 winners were also each presented with a £10 book token by Abra Willis from Waterstone’s on 7th April at the bookshop’s Walton-on-Thames branch. Abra commented, “Waterstone’s is delighted to be involved with such an innovative project as the recipe book which is supporting such a worthy cause.”
