Tommy draws from his own experiences of being a full time carer for his Mum, who suffered with vascular dementia for five years. Innovative new eye procedure launched

The Ophthalmology team at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has started a new service, known as ‘Corneal Cross-linking’. The procedure is used to treat a relatively rare condition called Keratoconus, which leads to progressive bulging and thinning of the cornea (the transparent layer forming the front of the eye) and ultimately to a deterioration in vision.
